Henry Golding is dishing out his hot takes on an Oscar-winning actress he recently collaborated with, showring her with compliments and a surprising Tom Cruise comparison.
The Crazy Rich Asians star was at the premiere of his film The Old Guard 2 which comes out on July 2 when he commented on the movie’s lead actress, Charlize Theron.
In an interview with People magazine, the Assassin Club actor stated, “You know what it is? She leads from the front. She’s like a rare commodity in Hollywood.”
“She is the female counterpart to a Tom Cruise. She’s the producer. She’s on set first thing in the morning, last at night, and she’s creating what she wants and she’s in there with the action,” Golding explained.
He also added that Theron would also assist with choreography, along with noting that her and Cruise were several of the last of movie stars.
The Snake Eyes star commented on what it would be like to play James Bond elsewhere in the interview, noting that it isn’t a dream role, but its exact opposite.
Golding called it a “kind of nightmare” to be chosen play the iconic character.
The 38-year-old elaborated his point by highlighting the pressure that comes with taking on such a beloved role from such an established franchise.
Henry Golding rose to fame by hosting BBC’s The Travel Show back in 2014. The British actor stepped into the acting world by starring in Crazy Rich Asians.
