The list of accolades won by Kendrick Lamar this year is becoming ridiculously long.
The Compton native first won five awards at this year’s Grammys, including the coveted Record of the Year for his diss track Not Like Us.
The rapper then went on to win Album of the Year for GNX at the BET Awards, which took place earlier this month.
Now, Lamar, along with his collaborator SZA, has grabbed the Favorite Music Collaboration trophy for their track Luther at the 38th edition of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards held on Saturday.
Although the duo did not attend the ceremony to receive their award, this particular win likely held a special place in their hearts considering that it serves as a testament to their popularity among the younger demographic.
Titled after R&B legend Luther Vandross, the song was released on November 29, 2024, as the third single from K.Dot’s aforementioned GNX album.
The track broke several records after topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart for thirteen straight weeks.
The music video of Luther (much like NOKIA) was shot in black and white and is directed by Drake’s ex-collaborator and fellow Canadian Karena Evans.
Evans previously called the shots for many of Drake’s music videos, including God’s Plan and I’m Upset.
