Ariana Grande has given a highly anticipated update about her upcoming album Petal, telling fans what they can expect from the record.
The Bloodline singer has revealed that her eighth studio album will be released on July 31 of this year, and has also given an update about what kind of vibe the tracks will have and what head space she was in while recording.
In a clip shared on her social media, the 32-year-old confirmed that the imagery that she was heavily teasing was meant to indicate that the album is about life growing through the cracks of something cold and hard, as the art is of a flower growing though concrete.
“It's kind of about breaking up with all different kinds of negative attachments, whether it's my own monsters in my own head, external voices, things that no longer serve me. I could be talking about one thing, sharing something, and people could use it however they want and apply it to their own lives,” she said.
Ariana added, “It’s a little feral, it’s definitely from a place that I have been maybe too shy or polite to tap into before, and this kind of just feels like, ‘F*** it.’”
Notably, Petal will be released amid the Wicked actress’ Eternal Sunshine Tour, which is set to begin in June.
