Beyoncé pays tribute to Paul McCartney for producing one of the best songs as she wraps up Cowboy Carter tour at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
In a recent Instagram post, American songwriter, shares a heartfelt message, thanking Paul McCartney for writing the masterpiece, Blackbird, which she covered on Cowboy Carter.
She wrote on Instagram: “Thank you, Sir Paul McCartney, for writing one of the best songs ever made. Every time I sing it I feel so honoured.”
Alongside a picture of her wearing a Blackbird-themed ensemble designed by Macca's daughter Stella McCartney, Grammy-winner singer penned down: “And it is a full circle moment to wear your beautiful daughter’s design.”
American singer, 43, performed Blackbird on all six nights of her London tour. But she used an original Beatles backing track for her album.
In last year’s Instagram post, McCartney,82, praised Beyoncé’s version of the song in such encouraging words: “I am so happy with @beyonce’s version of my song Blackbird. I think she does a magnificent version of it and it reinforces the civil rights message that inspired me to write the song in the first place. I think Beyoncé has done a fab version and would urge anyone who has not heard it yet to check it out. You are going to love it!”
The original song, 1968, was written by McCartney, one of England’s most influential musicians of all time, in response to US civil rights movement.
