The Royal family issued an update on senior members of the royal family hours before the Garter Day procession on the grounds of Windsor Castle.

On June 16, Buckingham Palace released rare photos of senior royals including Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip from the Garter Day gatherings.

The monarch's spokesperson also announced that the members of the Royal Family will take part in the annual Garter Day procession later today.

Sharing the details related to the royal occasion, the Palace stated, "This event is one of the most traditional ceremonies in the Royal calendar. The King and the Knights process in grand velvet robes, glistening insignia and plumed hats within the grounds of Windsor Castle."

"The Order of Garter was created nearly 700 years ago, in medieval times, by King Edward III."

"King Edward was so inspired by tales of King Arthur and the chivalry of the Knights of the Round Table that he set up his own group of honourable knights (The Order of the Garter!)"

It is highly expected that King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William, Princess Kate and other senior royals will attend the Garter Day event.

The royal family was spotted together at the King's birthday parade on June 14.
