For over a decade, Kate Middleton has reigned as the undisputed style icon of the British royal family, but a new name is quietly gaining ground, and giving the Princess of Wales a sartorial run for her money.
Harriett Sperling, the new partner of Peter Phillips (son of Princess Anne and the late Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest grandchild), has been making waves on the royal scene with her chic, considered fashion choices.
Last month, Sperling made her first public curtsy to King Charles and Queen Camilla, a significant moment for anyone stepping into the royal fold.
For the occasion she wore a sunshine-yellow fit-and-flare dress paired with a coordinating fascinator.
Sperling’s Wimbledon appearance last month also drew admiration. Opting for understated sophistication, she wore a soft-blue cotton co-ord from British label Wiggy Kit.
The £650 ensemble, comprised of a floaty blouse and tiered maxi skirt, offered a nod to Kate’s summery wardrobe staples.
Sperling and Phillips are believed to have begun dating in early 2024, several years after Phillips’ divorce from Autumn Kelly in 2019.
She made her official public debut at the Badminton Horse Trials in May 2024, a key social fixture in the royal calendar, and has since been seen at various events with Peter by her side.
