Will Smith, who marked his return to the entertainment industry, has been slammed after the release of his new single Pretty Girls.
The 56-year-old rapper’s career declined immensely after he slapped Chris Rock on the Oscars stage in 2022.
Will has seemingly sworn to win back his lost reputation as he released this track three months after his Based on a True Story album.
However, the Aladdin actor’s new music did not sit right with the fans as it left the internet divided, which was followed by intense backlash.
One of the X users reminded him: “This ain’t it man. You peaked 30 years ago.”
Another harshly criticised: “Empty cans rolling down the street sound more pleasant than whatever this is.”
A third one pointed out that he “shoulda left the spotlight after the whole Chris Rock. Man going out sad!”
A netizen was furious as they sarcastically questioned: “What do I have to comment to make sure I never see or hear this?”
It is to be noted that his comeback studio album was labelled a “commercial flop” after it did not make it to the Billboard 200.
According to the musician, the record held great significance as it ended his 20-year-long hiatus following the Oscars incident.
It called out the stereotypes that were associated with the Bad Boys: Ride or Die actor and how he has grown out of his past.
