Bryan Cranston was the host of the highly popular late-night live sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live, when he decided to present a unique idea that didn’t quite land.
The Breaking Bad alum recalled that while presenting he also tried his hand at a more creative venture by sharing a bunch of his ideas for sketches, one of which he disclosed, and it turned out to be bizarre.
"I pitched ideas which were almost immediately shut down. I had a great pitch,” the six-time Emmy winner told on the Fly on the Wall podcast.
Bryan then began describing the pitch, which begins with him, his sketch girlfriend and another couple going to a restaurant.
However, “The Sauce” is not supposed to be any ordinary restaurant, and as the stuck-up waiter tells the party of four, "'It's all about the sauce,'” after refusing to give them the menu.
The waiter then presents them with a French appetizer, essentially raw vegetables with a dipping sauce that immediately wins everyone over.
The crowd then begin overeating, which results in puking but surprisingly, things don’t end there, as they “… dip the barf in the sauce. Oh my god. It's all about the sauce. It's like no matter what you're eating, as long as the sauce is good. It's like, you have a severed finger and you dip it in the sauce and it's still good."
It is important to note that the sketch was actually much longer than this, according to Bryan.
Bryan Cranston hosted Saturday Night Live in 2010, the show is notorious for having popular figures appear as hosts and actors in sketches.
