Carrie Underwood has admitted she runs her own self-sustaining farm in her Tennessee home.

The 43-year-old singer-songwriter carries out everything from gardening to looking after the livestock.

The crooner of Grammy-award winning Jesus, Take The Wheel told Fox News that she believes she could "survive at home."

The star further shared that her personality at home is "a bit different" to her public image on stage.

"I'm usually covered in dirt, or I have farm animals everywhere, or I'm covered in poop," the star admitted.

The How Great Thou Art artist explained, "That's mom. I hope that's what they remember about me."

"We eat what we have. It all tastes delicious because it's food," the American Idol judge noted.

She explained they do have a farm manager because she and husband Mike Fischer aren't home all of the time.

Her family usually eat seasonal food grown in her garden as well as meat from the hunting ventures her husband embarks on.

"We eat what we have. It all tastes delicious because it's food," the mother-of-two claimed.

The star previously opened up about a moment where, whilst praying in the orchard of her farm, a snake appeared in front of her.

She referred to it as 'the devil's trick'. "The devil is always there... lurking. Being a Christian isn't a free ticket out of trouble," she captioned an image.
