Miley Cyrus breaks silence on family pain

Miley Cyrus explains how she healed all of her wounds while analysing ten years of family strife and trauma.

The 32-year-old celebrity was born into the spotlight as the daughter of country music icon Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus, who rose to fame early on as the star of Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel.

Although she disclosed on Tuesday's episode of Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky podcast that her path to fame was paved with family conflict, she went on to become a worldwide pop star in her own right.

She made fun of the fact that the entire family had gone through a "very difficult, dark decade," but they managed to overcome it.

On the podcast, which also included the singer educating the 51-year-old Lewinsky about the acronym WAP, Cyrus disclosed that the family was able to patch things up without the need for therapy.

The Heart of Glass vocalist joked about her family's difficulties, explaining why a therapist wasn't involved: "We're so messy, we didn't even do any of that."
