James Bourne is "on the mend", preparing to have major surgery, his Busted bandmate Matt Willis revealed on Thursday.
Last year, the 42-year old musician had to cancel the tour of the band with McFly because of an unspecified health issue.
He has recently disclosed that he is considering having an operation that would enable him to be able to lengthen his life.
In an appearance on Good Morning Britain on the ITV, Willis gave an update on his long time friend.
Willis went on to state, "It happened quite quickly, he got ill just before the tour started."
The 42-year-old Singer and songwriter noted, "He's not very well, but he's getting better. He's on the mend."
He responded, "I will do. I am seeing him today!" host Adil Ray also relayed well wishes to the Year 3000 crooner.
Bourne was back on social media earlier this week, posting to his Instagram Stories that he has a plan to have a big operation.
This would not only hopefully lengthen his life but also hopefully make him well enough to be able to go back to what he loves most of all which is touring and making music.
He added, "It really sucks to be out of the game. But there is hope!"
In September Bourne canceled the tour, stating that in more than eight days, it became apparent that he was not well enough to perform these shows.
He never revealed his state of health or disclose information about the surgery that was going to take place.
