James Bourne sparks concern with emotional health update

Fans of James Bourne have been left both worried and hopeful after the singer revealed he is preparing for “major surgery that should extend my life”.

The 42-year-old song-writer has kept a low profile in recent months after being forced to pull out of the band’s highly anticipated tour with McFly at the last minute due to serious health concerns.

Now, in an emotional update shared on Instagram, James admitted it has been a difficult time but insisted there is light at the end of the tunnel.

The Busted star told fans he has a plan in place for a life-extending operation, adding that he hopes it will allow him to return to the stage and do what he “loves the most”, touring and making music.

While the Year 3000 singer has chosen to keep details of his condition private, his message struck a chord with fans, many of whom have flooded social media with support. 

“It really sucks to be out of the game,” he confessed, before reassuring followers: “But there is hope!”

James’ sudden absence last year shocked fans, especially as it came just days before the Birmingham tour opener. 

At the time, he admitted his health had rapidly declined, leaving him no choice but to step back and focus on treatment.

Bandmate Matt Willis later told crowds that his friend was “really f****** sick”, describing the situation as something that “happened fast” and calling the band’s first ever show without him “really weird”.
