Prince William is set to saddle up once again for this year’s Trooping the Colour, joining Princess Anne and Prince Edward on horseback for the iconic royal birthday parade.
The future king, who turns 43 later this month, will play a key ceremonial role during the event, which has marked the sovereign’s official birthday since 1820.
A royal insider told The Times that Prince William “really enjoys it”, a nod to his deep-rooted sense of duty and comfort with tradition.
While King Charles III, 76, previously rode horseback, he’s expected to appear in a carriage this year alongside Queen Camilla, continuing a gentler pace for the monarch following his recent health challenges.
The procession will travel from Buckingham Palace to Horse Guards Parade and back, featuring an extended royal lineup. Princess Kate and the couple’s three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis — are also expected to attend.
Last year, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were joined by their daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, adding a younger face to the royal contingent.
