‘Ballerina’ unites Ana de Armas and Keanu Reeves in gripping new thriller

From the World of John Wick, Ballerina, starring Ana de Armas as Eva and Keanu Reeves as John Wick, has been receiving love and positive reviews so far.

Although Ballerina isn’t the most successful instalment of the John Wick franchise, it received a certified Fresh 72% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

However, the movie gave an opportunity for de Armas and Reeves to finally get a hit movie together, as their history has been a bit repugnant.

Previously, de Armas and Reeves worked together twice, first in the Eli Roth-helmed psychological thriller Knock Knock, and later in Exposed in 2016.

One year after their first movie together, Reeves debuted his role as John Wick in the franchise, and after their second movie, he reprised his role in the franchise.

At the time, de Armas was yet to become a popular Hollywood actress. However, the Blonde actress is now an Oscar-nominated star.

Now, almost a decade later, the rising Hollywood A-list actress made her debut in the franchise while Reeves returned as John Wick, marking their first great movie together.

Their acting reunion also feels like a return after both actors have seen significant career growth.

However, critics reviewed why Ballerina turned out to be more successful than the co-stars' previous films.

Compared to the other two titles, Ballerina had a built-in audience from Reeves’ role in the John Wick series, as it is an existing franchise instalment.

Moreover, the latest movie had a higher budget, a potentially stronger team, and massive resources contributing to its success.
