Prince Harry is being criticised once again for what royal experts call a refusal to take responsibility for the rift with his family.
Following his failed legal attempt to regain police protection in the UK, Harry gave an emotional BBC interview in which he claimed King Charles “won’t speak to me” and added he doesn’t know “how much longer” his cancer-stricken father has left.
But royal biographer Tina Brown wasn’t convinced.
Speaking to Laura Kuenssberg, she said: “I didn’t hear two very crucial words: ‘I’m sorry’. He never once acknowledged the pain he’s caused his family.”
Author Ingrid Seward also weighed in, linking Harry’s lack of contrition to his upbringing.
In My Mother and I, she suggests Charles “probably regrets” not setting firmer boundaries for his sons.
“He went along with Diana’s more relaxed parenting style, which might’ve backfired,” she told Fox News.
Despite Harry saying he wants “reconciliation,” critics argue his comments ring hollow without accountability.
Buckingham Palace later issued a rare statement, noting that the legal matters surrounding Harry’s security “have been examined repeatedly... with the same conclusion each time.”
