Prince Harry has officially been told to pack up his title, and his last name.

After reports emerged that the Duke of Sussex had approached his uncle, Charles Spencer, to ask about changing his surname to “Spencer”, a tribute to his late mother, Princess Diana, royal fans wasted no time sharing their brutally honest opinions.

According to The Mail on Sunday, Harry “actively explored ways” to ditch his official surname, Mountbatten-Windsor, during a previous UK visit.

That name, a blend of the Royal House of Windsor and Prince Philip’s Mountbatten line, is used by all of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip’s descendants, including Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

But after a new poll by The Express surveyed nearly 3,000 readers, the results sent shockwaves across royal watchers: 52 percent say Harry should absolutely change his surname. 43 percent say no way. And 5 percent. Still undecided.

“Name change and a permanent FO. Won’t be missed!” one reader blasted.

“Send him a deed poll someone,” another joked. “He clearly wants nothing to do with the Royal Family anymore,” one fan observed.

Royal insiders have suggested the name switch would be a clear renunciation of his royal roots, and reportedly, Uncle Charles Spencer advised against it.
