Tom Cruise’s blockbuster franchise is back with the eighth and reportedly last instalment, Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, and blasts Korea’s box office.

After its first release on May 17, the action-packed film topped, marking the return of Hollywood to South Korea’s box office, unstoppable.

Cruise’s high-octane franchise movie debuted with $5.4 million, accounting for a commanding 66.63% of total weekend revenue.

As reported by Kobis, the tracking service by the Korean Film Council, the latest instalment attracted 759,363 admissions across a massive 2,385 screens. With limited previews included, the film has raked in $5.5 million from a total of 762,955 admissions.

Recently, Cruise visited South Korea for the promotion of the brand new movie and also appeared in BTS Jin's show Run Jin, as confirmed by the stunt actor himself.

Cruise and the movie director, Christopher McQuarrie, along with the whole cast, dazzled at the Cannes film festival for the premiere of their final movie of the historical sequel.

At the 78th Cannes Film Festival, Cruise, Christopher, and the cast made a remarkable entry with the Mission: Impossible theme song playing on orchestra on the red carpet.

Moreover, The Final Reckoning received an iconic eighth-minute standing ovation at Canes.
