Jennifer Aniston’s alleged stalker was officially ordered to stay 100 yards away from her after a dramatic court appearance on Thursday that left onlookers stunned.

Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, who was arrested earlier this week for allegedly crashing his car into Aniston’s gate, appeared shirtless and wrapped in a blanket during his first hearing.

He was held behind glass in a custody area of a Los Angeles courtroom, saying nothing and entering no plea.

Despite concerns about his mental state, a Los Angeles County judge issued a protective order requiring Carwyle to stay away from the Friends star under all circumstances.

“You are not to have any contact with Jennifer Aniston under any conditions,” said Judge Keith L. Schwartz.

According to prosecutors, Carwyle has been harassing Aniston online since March 2023, sending her unsolicited messages via social media, email, and voicemail.

Things escalated dramatically on Monday, when he allegedly drove his PT Cruiser into the front gate of Aniston’s LA mansion.

NBC reported Carwyle believed he and Aniston were married, but that corruption was keeping them apart. He had reportedly been living out of his car in a Walmart parking lot prior to the incident.

Law enforcement says Aniston was home during the crash but was unharmed. Her private security detained Carwyle until LAPD arrived.

The LA District Attorney’s office confirmed that Carwyle is being charged with felony stalking and felony vandalism, with the added aggravating factor of posing a threat of great bodily harm.

Prosecutors plan to request $150,000 bail at his arraignment and say Carwyle could face up to three years in prison if convicted.

Meanwhile, his defense lawyer acknowledged concerns about his mental health. The judge ordered Carwyle to undergo mental competency testing before the case proceeds.

Which other stars have faced break-ins in LA?

Aniston joins a growing list of A-listers targeted in high-profile home invasions and break-ins in the Los Angeles area in recent months.

In February 2024, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban had their home broken into on Valentine’s Day, when intruders smashed a glass door and fled the scene.

In June 2023, an intruder trespassed onto Pierce Brosnan’s Malibu property, using a neighbour’s laundry room before entering his guesthouse. The L.A. Sheriff’s helicopter unit was called in to apprehend the suspect.
