Just when Prince Harry thought things couldn’t get more complicated, a new poll has dropped, and the results are not exactly in his favour.

After making headlines for his bombshell BBC interview, in which he said King Charles "won’t speak to me" and admitted he doesn't "know how long [his father] has left," the public has now weighed in.

A YouGov poll released on May 2 reveals that nearly half of Britons, 46 percent think the royal family has treated Harry fairly in the years-long feud that's torn the family apart.

Only 23 percent of people felt the Duke of Sussex has been treated unfairly. The remaining 31 percent said they're staying out of it.

This poll of 6,020 British adults, taken on April 9, comes just days after Harry’s emotional comments about his royal rift, and the public reaction is a sharp reality check.

Twenty-two percent of respondents say Harry should get state-funded police protection. Thirty-nine percent say let him have protection but only if he foots the bill. Twenty-four percent said he should get no protection at all.

What did Prince Harry say in his BBC interview?

In the sit-down with the BBC, the Duke said he was “devastated” by the ruling and reiterated that his father “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.”

He also shared his wish for peace: “There’s no point continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious.”

Harry also admitted in the interview that he doesn’t know how long his father has left, a statement many have viewed as deeply personal and perhaps, too revealing.
