Tina Knowles recalls her parenting years when she noticed "a wall between them coming" and made an important decision in raising her daughters.
In a recent CNN interview with Sara Sidner, the 71-year-old revealed that she enrolled Beyoncé and Solange in therapy as kids to prevent conflict from growing among them.
Tina shared how she helped her daughters maintain their healthy bond, despite noting that Solange and Beyoncé had different personalities growing up.
According to the publication, the mother of two stated, "I was terrified when Beyoncé turned around 10. She might have been 10 or 11, and she was in the singing group. And the kids would say to Solange every day, 'Be quiet, Solange,' because she would try to choreograph and, you know, she wanted to be involved. She bossed it, too. And they didn't want her involved."
The American businesswoman mentioned, “But finally, I realized that they weren't listening, and I saw a wall between them coming, and so I got them in therapy.”
Tina was firm in getting therapy for her daughters, even though it was not common at that time, and her ex-husband also thought it wasn't needed.
She pushed herself to find a therapist, and it worked. Beyoncé didn't like it, but Solange loved talking and expressing herself.
On April 22, Tina released her new book Matriarch.
