Nikki Glaser addresses ‘mean’ dig at Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco

Nikki Glaser, who took the 2025 Golden Globes stage as a host, opened up about being malicious to Selena Gomez and her fiancé Benny Blanco during her opening monologue.

The 40-year-old star admitted that one of her Golden Globes roast did not land as well as she thought it would, earning her the “reputation of being mean.”

Nikki, who previously took part in The Roast of Tom Brady, insisted during the Time100 Summit on April 23 that it is her job to be “mean for those.”

The awards night was special for Selena as she was nominated for her roles in Only Murders in the Building and Emilia Perez.

The Roast of Bruce Willis star introduced the couple with a jab: “Selena Gomez is here with Benny Blanco, her new fiancé and Benny Blanco is her because of the genie who granted him that wish.”

During the Summit, the comedian acknowledged that the pun was “pretty mean.”

Nikki, contradicting her monologue statement, explained that people judge Benny for his appearance but “I never looked at them and actually thought that.”

She presented her opinion about the popstar marrying the record producer that “she won too with it, like I think he’s really cool.”

Although the audience criticised the host for making the unkind remark about the duo, the TV personality revealed that she “got his number” and pitched the idea for her speech beforehand.
