Nikki Glaser recalls almost scaring Timothee Chalamet off

Nikki Glaser admits she was the reason Timothée Chalamet nearly missed the beginning of the Golden Globes this year.

The comedian had to deliver an opening monologue at the prestigious event, which the A Complete Unknown actor planned on skipping after a comment made by the 40-year-old.

Nikki, recently opened up about the events that took place before the show, which included an exchange between her and Timothée, who was anticipating being made fun of.

The Trainwreck actress revealed that she had name-dropped the Dune star in an interview prior to the Golden Globes, saying that she will “probably make a joke about him.”

“That got back to him, and he was just going to skip my monologue and get there late, just so he didn’t have to deal with it,” she continued, telling at the Time100 Summit on April 23.

The Not Safe with Nikki Glaser host stated that she understood Timothée’s apprehension, so she dropped a message for him to his publicist.

“I love Timothée! I’m not telling you the jokes, but I promise the jokes are only uplifting him and saying, ‘I’m a huge fan.’ I would never do anything to ruin his night!”

The Wonka star eventually ended up attending the star-studded ceremony on time, even flashing a smile when Nikki mentioned him.
