Rosie remembers working with 10-year-old Michelle Trachtenberg on the film Harriet the Spy.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 63-year-old host, recalled, "That little girl was something else... That was a book that meant a lot to me when I was a little girl and I just loved her."
The talk show host also shared that they had reconnected about three years ago and would talk on the phone. The comedian expressed her regret, saying, "She was struggling in a lot of ways, and I just wish that I could've been there for her more than I was able to [be]."
Rosie, 63, expressed her love and support for Michelle's family, particularly her sister and mother, stating she's "friends with" them and has "spoken" to them since the Ice Princess actress' passing.
The Flintstones actress concluded with a tribute, "I miss her and I love her and it's a tragic, tragic loss and it pained me greatly."
After Trachtenberg's passing, the SMILF actress shared her sincere condolences, adding, "I loved her very much. She struggled the last few years. I wish I could have helped."
The NYC Medical Examiner's office recently confirmed Michelle Trachtenberg's cause of death as complications related to diabetes mellitus, and declared on-spot death. She was found unconscious and unresponsive in her NYC apartment on February 26.
