Katie Maloney thinks ‘Vanderpump Rules’ new cast ‘feels cheap’

The American reality TV series Vanderpump Rules has been airing on Bravo since January 7, 2013 and was ranked as the most-watched cable series in 2023 in the 18–49 demographic in L+3 ratings.

Recently, for the upcoming season, the original cast line-up is stepping aside, making way for new members to join the show.

The new cast includes Demyana Selem, Marcus Johnson, Natalie Maguire, Gabrielle Cagan, Gabriella Bella and others.

However, one of the show's standout former cast members, Katie Maloney, shared her thoughts on a recent episode of the Detox Retox podcast, which she co-hosts with her ex-husband, Tom Schwartz.

The 38-year-old TV personality spoke candidly about the shake-up. She admitted she was content with her exit from the show, but as someone who cares about its legacy, she expressed concern that the new direction “feels cheap.”

“I was ready to walk away, but it doesn’t mean I don’t care about our show and the legacy that we brought to it,” Katie began. “I feel like—this isn’t against any of them, I don’t know them—but it just feels cheap to me. It feels cheap and I don’t like cheap.” 

“To me, it just feels like it’s going to try to have the same flavour, the same everything… When you try to replicate the recipe just based off taste, you can’t do it,” Katie concluded.
