Meghan Markle's longtime photographer and pal Jake Rosenberg reveals what it's like working with her
The heartwarming photo of Meghan Markle and Princess Lilibet that went viral on the homepage of the Duchess’ new brand As ever wasn’t the result of a high-gloss shoot. Instead, it was just a sunny afternoon with friends.
Jake Rosenberg, Meghan’s longtime friend and photographer, opened up to People magazine about the story behind the sweet snap.
“It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, and we were all hanging out,” he recalled. “They were having a moment together. That was really authentic to who she is as a mother, and Lilibet is such a joy.”
The candid shot quickly made waves online, capturing the intimate bond between mother and daughter. But for Rosenberg, it was just another natural moment with an old friend.
“Shooting with Meghan, it just feels like we're two friends hanging out,” he said. “It doesn't feel like this giant production.”
Rosenberg — who’s been photographing Meghan for over a decade — described her new chapter as a return to her roots.
“It does feel like the good old days,” he shared. “She has a way of [adding] a personal touch on so many different facets of her life.”
As for working with the Duchess of Sussex, Rosenberg said she is really easy and fun to work with.
“She puts so much care into each detail,” he added. “I’m very proud to be part of what she’s building and work alongside her.”
