Drew Barrymore remembered industry fellow and co-star Val Kilmer following his death at the age of 65.
During the April 7th episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the host, along with guest Kevin Bacon, paused the show to mourn the passing of the Heat actor
“I was friends with Joel Schumacher, the director, who I thought of this morning because it was he and Val Kilmer that pulled me into Batman Forever,” Barrymore said.
“Val Kilmer was so nice to me. So nurturing and kind and safe,” the actress continued. “Which was a very important thing for me.”
Bacon was taken by surprise by Kilmer's kindness, which he thought was rare in the industry.
Barrymore agreed with Bacon while saying, “Yeah, I was like, ‘Nobody wants anything from me, they want things for me.’ Which I thought was really interesting.”
The Golden Globe Award winner shared the big screen with Kilmer in the 1995 classic Batman Forever.
Moreover, it’s not just Barrymore who expressed grief over Tombstone star's death. Several other Hollywood celebs also mourned the loss, including Tom Cruise, Michael Mann, Nicolas Cage and Jim Carrey.
