Streamer Tectone unexpectedly banned from Twitch

It seems like Tectone will not be streaming for some time.

The popular streamer, known for playing various video games including Genshin Impact, has reportedly been banned from the streaming platform Twitch.

On Thursday, Tectone’s ban was reported by an automated Twitch tracker on X, formerly Twitter. When visiting Tectone’s Twitch page, it states that the ban is temporary.

At the time of writing, the reason behind the ban is unclear. It is also worth noting that this is the first time Tectone has been banned on the platform.

Tectone, real name John Robertson, has over 900K followers on Twitch. The gamer has become a controversial figure in the streaming community, especially after he was accused of sexual abuse.

Last November, streamer and cosplayer Pinkchyu accused Tectone of sexual harassment. She took to X and posted a detailed account of the alleged abuse she suffered.

However, Pinkchyu did not explicitly name Tectone but social media users speculated that she was referring to the former OTK member.

Later that month, Tectone vaguely responded to the allegations, claiming he could not directly address anyone due to the non-disclosure agreement he was compelled to sign. 

Nonetheless, Tectone suggested that he had tried to make things right with his accuser.
