King Charles 'secret weapon' Duchess Sophie performs meaningful task in US

Duchess Sophie received major honour from the royal family after performing key task during her surprise visit to the US.

Popularly known as a 'secret weapon' of King Charles, the Duchess of Edinburgh recently attended the meaningful UN’s 69th Commission on the Status of Women in New York City. 

According to a statement released by the King's office, the mother-of-two "attended the meeting - the largest globally on gender equality - as Global Ambassador of @IAPB and a Champion of the UN’s Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda."

"In a keynote address at a UN Friends of Vision group meeting, Her Royal Highness highlighted the important connection between eye health and gender equality."

"The Duchess, as Patron of @PlanInternational, also attended a meeting with youth advocates from Lebanon, Ethiopia, Peru, and Jordan who shared their experiences of living through conflict and crisis."

It is pertinent to mention that Duchess Sophie performed this significant job in the US after King Charles' message to President Donald Trump for a state visit to the UK amid a political crisis.
