Palace secrets unveiled: new tell-all book to expose royal family's secret influence

A new tell-all royal book is on the horizon, and it promises to rock Buckingham Palace with bombshell claims about the “secretive and poorly understood” relationship between the British monarchy and the government.

Titled Power and the Palace: The Inside Story of the Monarchy and 10 Downing Street, the book is written by renowned royal correspondent Valentine Low, and is scheduled for release on September 11, 2025.

According to early promotional material, the book will “lift the lid” on the complex power dynamic between the monarchy and the government, offering new insights into the behind-the-scenes influence of the royal family on British politics.

The book will explore the frosty relationship between Queen Elizabeth II and former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, as well as the regular wartime meetings between King George VI and Winston Churchill.

Low, who previously authored Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Crown, described his latest exposé as an exploration of the subtle but powerful dynamic between the royals and British leadership.

"Just as Courtiers showed the inner workings of the palace, this book explores the little-understood relationship between the monarchy and those who actually run the country – between those who reign and those who rule. It is a subtle, constantly changing dynamic which can leave one asking: who is actually in charge here?"
