Kate Middleton didn’t say much about her 2007 split from Prince William — but her reaction spoke volumes.
A resurfaced encounter between Kate (before she was a royal) and TV presenter Tara Palmer-Tomkinson reveals how the future queen handled the public scrutiny during their brief breakup, GB News reported.
According to the Daily Mail, the exchange took place at a book launch for Young Stalin at Asprey jewellers in Mayfair, where Kate attended with her sister, Pippa.
Tara, the late socialite and longtime friend of the royal family, didn’t hesitate to ask Kate how she was holding up.
“How are you doing?” she asked.
Kate, then 25, replied simply: “Fine,” though she reportedly blushed.
Tara pressed on, acknowledging how difficult the situation must have been. Remaining composed, Kate repeated, “Really, it’s fine,” though her discomfort was clear.
The moment quickly passed, and the conversation shifted. But it offered a rare glimpse into how Kate handled public curiosity before officially becoming a royal.
Kate and William reconciled in 2008 and tied the knot three years later in a globally televised wedding. Now, nearly 15 years into their marriage, the Prince and Princess of Wales share three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
