As the premiere of Meghan Markle’s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan approaches, new revelations suggest that the Duchess of Sussex had long aspired to have a career in the culinary world.
The Netflix series, which debuts tomorrow, will showcase Meghan cooking for celebrity guests and sharing hosting tips from her Montecito mansion in California. However, it seems this isn't just a new venture—it's something she always wanted to pursue.
According to Professor Jonathan Shalit OBE, Meghan once shared her aspiration to become a celebrity chef, citing Gordon Ramsay as an inspiration.
Speaking to MailOnline, Shalit recalled a 2016 meeting in London, where he discussed on-screen opportunities with Meghan.
"I want to be a TV celebrity chef like Gordon Ramsay," Meghan reportedly told him.
Shalit further reflected on Meghan’s unstoppable ambition, saying: "At the time of meeting Meghan nine years ago, I saw her as someone whose career was only going to grow and grow."
With the launch of With Love, Meghan, it seems the duchess is finally bringing her culinary dreams to life—this time, on her own terms.

As per Netflix, Meghan’s new show will see her “reimagine the genre of lifestyle programming” as she along with her celebrity friends roll “up their sleeves in the kitchen, the garden, and beyond, and invite you to do the same”.
The series is part of Meghan and Prince Harry’s multi-year deal with Netflix, which they signed in 2020. The eight-part lifestyle series will mark Meghan’s return to her roots, featuring hosting and entertaining tips while welcoming celebrity friends on the show.
