Prince William, Prince Harry's feud affecting close family members, royal aide reveals

The ongoing rift between Prince Harry and Prince William has been making headlines for years, and according to a former royal aide, there seems to be no end in sight.

Speaking in a special episode of 60 Minutes Australia, Jason Knauf, the former communications secretary for Prince William and Kate Middleton, shared insight into the strained relationship between the brothers.

Knauf acknowledged the pain the feud has caused within the royal family but emphasized that those close to Prince William are respecting his decision to keep his thoughts private.

"It’s very difficult to have this stuff play out in the public eye, but [William] has chosen to keep his thoughts on it private, and I think all of us who know him really have to respect that we should do the same," Knauf explained.

Despite remaining tight-lipped, Knauf did admit that the rift has been tough: "But I will say, of course, it’s been hard and sad, especially for all of us who know both of them."

Knauf, who previously worked closely with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, briefly touched on his experiences with them, recalling the positive moments they once shared.

"I worked really closely with the two of them, and we had lots of great times," he shared, offering a rare acknowledgment of his past dynamic with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

With no public reconciliation on the horizon, the royal family continues to navigate one of its most high-profile tensions in recent history.

Prince William has not publicly responded to Harry’s claims or his memoir. In an interview promoting his book, Harry revealed that he is not currently on speaking terms with his brother.
