Leslie Sloane, the longtime publicist of Blake Lively, has officially moved to dismiss claims against her in Justin Baldoni’s $400 million defamation and extortion lawsuit.
In a motion filed on Thursday, Sloane’s legal team argued that Baldoni’s attorneys “dragged” her into the lawsuit as a distraction tactic, calling it “smoke and mirrors” to divert attention from his own alleged misconduct.
According to Page Six, Sloane accused Baldoni of “egregious sexual harassment of multiple employees” and stated that he wrongfully benefited from the #MeToo movement.
In the court filing, Sloane reaffirmed allegations made by Lively, claiming that Baldoni is using legal action as a weapon to silence and punish those who speak out against him.
“This lawsuit is nothing more than an attempt to discredit and blame his victims and punish anyone who stands up to him,” the filing reads.
Sloane also argued that Baldoni’s alleged abusive behavior on set made both her and other women deeply uncomfortable, but they were expected to remain silent.
“I was too ambitious, too outspoken, and should have accepted Baldoni’s bizarre and abusive practices without complaint—no matter how uncomfortable they made me and others,” she stated in the motion.
Sloane’s motion to dismiss claims against her comes just days after Lively filed an amended complaint, further strengthening the allegations against Baldoni.
Blake Lively has filed a lawsuit against It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment, retaliation, and creating a hostile work environment on the set of the film.
