WhatsApp has reportedly introduced the latest chat events feature for iOS users, allowing invitees to specify whether they plan to bring a guest along when responding to event invitations.

This innovative feature aims to offer enhanced flexibility for event organisers and offer an exceptional planning experience to attendees, according to WABetaInfo.

While creating an event, the event organiser can only select to activate or deactivate the option for invitees to invite a guest. If activated, recipients will receive an option to choose whether they will attend the event alone or along with someone.

It will assist event planners in properly managing guest lists and finalise arrangements according to the number of guests attending the event.

On the other hand, organisers can also deactivate the guest option for exclusive or confidential events, signalling the restriction to the listed invitees, which is crucial for confidential meetings and internal gatherings.

This feature is currently available to a few best testers on iOS via the TestFlight app; however, Meta-owned WhatsApp is reportedly planning for its broader expansion to iOS users in the near future.

Notably, WhatsApp is likely to offer similar event management capabilities in WhatsApp’s Android variant.
