Shakira 'cringes' at her old songs, says she 'overdid' yodel

Shakira, a Colombian singer-songwriter, confessed that she used to over do her trademark yodel on her older tracks.

During a recent appearance on Hot Ones, the Colombian artist was asked by host Sean Evans what makes her "cringe or wince" when she listens to her early career songs.

Shakira answered, "So many things. I think I used to overdo the cries in my voice; you know it's too much."

She went on adding, "I think it was exaggerated... a little baroque. You know?"

"And I noticed that after my pregnancies my voice got thicker, more rounded, and more full," the Grammy-winning artist explained, referring to birthing her two sons, whom she shares with her ex-partner Gerard Piqué.

Shakira further added, "Also, my choices are more mature. I have evolved as a woman and a person. My intellect has evolved."

Previously, the Waka Waka hitmaker confessed that her sons, Sasha and Milan, absolutely hated Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

During a conversation, the Hips Don't Lie hitmaker told Allure magazine, "My sons absolutely hated it. They felt that it was emasculating."

"And I agree, to a certain extent. I'm raising two boys. I want (them) to feel powerful too while respecting women," Shakira added in conclusion.
