Halle Bailey recently opened up about the exclusive name of her baby boy, whom she welcomed into the world with her boyfriend, Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., late last year.
In a candid conversation with PEOPLE, the Little Mermaid star shed light on the decision to choose a name for their first child.
"It was actually my boyfriend’s idea," the actress and singer, 28, shared. "He’s the one who came up with his name," she added.
Bailey continued, "We just agreed, and we loved it," unable to contain her excitement, she gushed over the rare moniker, "I love the name Halo."
During the interview, The Color Purple actress was asked if there was any possible link between her son’s name and the song I Am…Sasha Fierce that her mentor Beyonce dropped off in 2008 album.
She chuckled at the suggestion, jokingly remarking, "He for sure has a theme song.”
The Line actress announced the birth of her first baby on Instagram on January 7, following a slew of pregnancy rumors on which both DDG and the singer remained tight-lipped.
At that time, she shared an adorable snapshot of her manicured hand holding the tiny hand of her newborn son adorned with a gold bracelet engraved with the name "Halo."
Along with the image, Bailey penned a sweet caption that read, "Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son…"
Adding a playful nod to the curiosity surrounding her pregnancy she wrote, "Welcome to the world my halo [loved-up emojis] the world is desperate to know you [laughing emojis]."
