Selena Gomez has made her close friends and circle "protective of her" as her romance with Benny Blanco continues to grow.

A source told People, "Everyone was a fan of hers before Only Murders [in the Biulding] and now everyone is protective of her. With her cast and crew, the feeling is any boyfriend of Selena’a is a boyfriend of ours."

The insider went on to affirm that the 31-year-old American singer is "super happy and present" amid her blooming romance with the record producer.

“She seems to be really feeling herself at the moment," they noted, adding, "Everyone is so happy that she's happy."

However, the reason for her contentment and pleasure seemed to be a bit confusing as the outlet reported, "Maybe that’s Benny or maybe that’s just where she’s at personally and professionally."

This revelation was made after the Rare Beauty mogul was seen enjoying a date night with the 35-year-old actor at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

The couple was seen seated at the courtside on Wednesday night as they watched the game between L.A. Lakers and Miami Heat.

The two didn’t shy away from showing off their mutual affection and cuddled close while holding hands.

The Single Soon vocalist was first linked with the recipient of the 2013 Hal David Starlight Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame, last year in the early days of December.

She later confirmed that they had been dating for the past six months.
