Angus Cloud’s mother had reportedly dialled 911, alleging a "possible overdose" hours before the actor was pronounced dead.
The actor, who played drug dealer Fezco in Euphoria, was confirmed dead on Monday in a statement from his family. He was 25.
Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend," they said in a statement to TMZ.
"We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss."
A source close to the family revealed that Cloud had been battling "severe suicidal thoughts" following his father's burial in Ireland.
He was reportedly leaning on his family to "work through overcoming the grief."
Angus Cloud was acclaimed for his breakout role as Fezco in the teen drama series, which he secured after a casting agent spotted him waiting tables at a restaurant in Brooklyn.
Playing Euphoria’s Fez became his first on-camera role in Hollywood. Speaking to GQ, he opened up about the nerves and exhaustion he felt during the first weeks on set. "I’m like, ‘I don’t know what I am doing. Why did they bring me over here for this? They should have gotten a real actor for this job,’" he said.
However, he does have some upcoming projects in the pipeline, including Your Lucky Day, The Line, and a monster film from Radio Silence.
