Diddy finds new reason to celebrate ahead of sentence hearing

Diddy, who was found not guilty on major charges in sex trafficking and racketeering case, found another reason to celebrate ahead of sentencing.

Although the 55-year-old rapper’s fate is yet to be decided, one of the sexual assault cases on Diddy was dismissed.

According to the reports, the sexual battery case filed by John Doe was dismissed as the “the statute of limitation time period” has expired.

This means that the case wasn’t filed within the time limit, which is generally five years.

It was claimed by the plaintiff in the initial fillings that he was “drugged” and “sexually assaulted” by the Bad Boy Records owner in a backroom.

John was taken somewhere in the SoHo club where he witnessed people using drugs and engaging in prostitution.

As the alleged victim’s drinks were spiked, he remained half-conscious and aware while he was raped by the music mogul.

Meanwhile, the singer continues to face several other civil lawsuits with similar allegations of committing sexual assaults and other offences.

After being arrested in September 2024, the rapper remains imprisoned in the Metropolitan Detention Centre in Brooklyn.

Diddy’s lawsuit is expected to wrap up on October 3 following a fiery seven-week trial that began on May 5, 2025.

However, the defence lawyers are aiming to remove the partial conviction of two counts of a prostitution-related charges as well.

Is Diddy getting a presidential pardon?

For this reason, the Victory hitmaker’s team tried reaching out President Donald Trump for a pardon but did not receive a satisfactory response from him.

As his lawyer admitted the artist is open to offer support to Trump, president’s renewed interest would presumably flip the whole case in rapper's favour.
