Get ready for a video game and hip-hop crossover no one ever saw coming.

Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg, and 21 Savage are officially confirmed to be appearing in Season 5 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone as playable operators with their very own bundles.

The latest additions come in celebration of 50 years of hip-hop music and are also set to include free items for all players.

The game development company Activision announced that each player will be able to avail of free hip hop War Tracks if they log in to the games between August 7 and August 16.

The season is officially set for launch on August 2.

"The first three days of logging in during this time frame will grant a hip hop War Track from the '80s, '90s, or 2000s," according to a report by GameSpot. "On the fourth day of logging in, players will receive a special weapon blueprint. These items will automatically be granted to the player upon login."

Snoop Dogg fans are familiar with having the rapper in the game as he has previously appeared in Vanguard and Call of Duty: Mobile.

Minaj’s appearance in a pink outfit and matching-coloured guns have fans exhilarated at the prospect of playing her.

Meanwhile, 21 Savage’s operator skin is being kept in suspense for a reveal at a later time.

Call of Duty has occasionally found a way to incorporate pop culture references to the game in an attempt to keep people talking; most recently, the publishers added a crossover with The Boys in Season 4 Reloaded, featuring operator bundles for Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir.
