Baidu AI Vs. ChatGPT: SEE how ChatGPT lost to China’s Baidu AI ‘Ernie’

Baidu AI, called ‘Ernie’, maybe the new boss in the artificial intelligence world.

According to Business Today, Baidu revealed that their most recent "Ernie" AI model, Ernie 3.5, had already surpassed ChatGPT in a number of crucial measures. 

According to Baidu, the most popular search engine in China, Ernie 3.5 outperforms ChatGPT in terms of overall performance on Chinese language tasks as well as comprehensive ability scores.

Citing a test from the official publication China Science Daily—basically two benchmarks for AI performance—which used datasets from AGIEval and C-Eval—it validates these assertions. As of this writing, it appears that OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has not commented to Business Today regarding these allegations.

Additionally, Baidu noted that its most recent Ernie model has improved training and inference efficiency, which it promises will eventually make AI faster and more affordable. Last but not least, the new model will accept plugins and add-on programs that can carry out extra jobs like summing large texts or producing more precise results.

Although Ernie has not yet had an official English release, Baidu's core search engine platform is accessible in English. Its other services are available in English, which may indicate that it would be willing and able to export its Ernie AI model to the West.
