Meghan Markle will reportedly not be going forward with her "mega-buck" Dior Deal.
While Mail on Sunday reported that the Duchess of Sussex was "on the brink of signing a major deal with French couture house Dior to make her a face of the company" Page Six Style reported that there was no such contract in the works.
Furthermore, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex bolstered the latter publication's findings and said that not only were the claims false, but the fashion house's team was also "nonplussed as to how the story came about."
Despite the rumours now cleared to be false, the couple's longtime association with the brand added weight to the supposed talks.
Having worn the label for a number of major royal events, fans and critics of the couple assumed that this was the next logical step after their try at content creation did not work out.
For the unversed, days after Prince Harry and Meghan ended their $20 million deal with Spotify, The Daily Mail’s report stated that the couple’s next big money move was a fashion deal with Dior.
Citing a "prominent Beverly Hills socialite" it was alleged that the move would overshadow the news of the couple's failed deal with the streaming giant, giving attention to something positive for the pair.
"There have been rumors for weeks that [Markle’s] about to sign a deal with Dior which has put the gossip mill into overdrive," the source said at the time.
"If she pulls that off, then no one will remember that her silly little podcast got cancelled after one season."
