K-pop singer Haesoo has died by suicide at the age of 29.
The trot singer was found dead in a hotel room by the police last week with a suicide note by her side.
According to YTN, Haesoo was slated to perform at the Gwanjumyeon People’s Day event in Wanju Gun, Jeollabuk-do on May 20, which was canceled by the organizers via a phone call.
The identity of the late singer was withheld from the public, with the police only revealing that a woman in her 30s and a trot singer has died on the day of her death,
However, after the South Korean media outlet received the news of the cancellation of Haesoo’s upcoming gig, the suspicions turned into a reality of her demise.
Her Instagram account was also closed on May 14th, which Haesoo frequently used to interact with her fanbase, adding more weight to the tragedy.
Haesoo, a trot singer, debuted in 2019 with an album titled, My Life, Me.
The late singer went on to appear in many shows, including Gayo Stage, Hangout With Yoo, and The Trot Show, where she swayed the audience with her soulful singing skills and garnered a huge fan following.
She also appeared in KBS 2TV’s Immortal Song at the beginning of the year.
