From Jennifer Syme to Alexandra Grant: Keanu Reeves' love life at a glance

It might come as a shock to some but alongside being a super-powered detective, a computer geek, and a full-time bounty hunter, Keanu Reeves is also a romantic. His perspective on love is just as poetic as the other aspects of his life. And staying true to his persona; the actor approaches each relationship in his life with the utmost compassion.

Despite being in the industry for more than 40 years, Reeves hasn’t let the media get too much insight into his personal life – a decision that, in retrospect, has proved fruitful in terms of his romantic relationships. It is also the reason why there’s only very little information on the actor’s romantic partners and his love life in general.

As of now, Keanu Reeves is in a private relationship with Alexandra Grant – too private that it’d make you wonder if they have split.

1. Jill Schoelen:

Reeves reportedly met the beauty icon when they starred together in the 1986’s musical drama film, Babes in Toyland.

The couple dated for almost three years as Schoelen began dating her other costar Brad Pitt after splitting from Reeves in 1989.

2. Sofia Coppola:

Amongst Reeves’ normally long-term romances, his fling with Cappola is often forgotten about. The pair dated for some time after meeting on the set of Bram Stoker's Dracula, which was directed by Sofia's father, Francis Ford Coppola.

3. Winona Ryder:

The question of whether Keanu Reeves is married to Winona Ryder has plagued the internet for decades – and honestly, one can’t be too sure to either confirm the rumor or deny it.

While it is true that the Dracula costars have never dated, Ryder once told Entertainment Weekly   that the pair may have accidentally tied the knot for real by a real priest.

Ryder explained, "In that scene, Francis [Ford Coppola] used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master, and he did the whole thing. So I think we're married."

4. Amanda de Cadenet:

The John Wick actor even managed to swoon the then-pregnant Amanda de Cadenet with his humble personality.

Reeves was linked to the actress for a brief time during the '90 but left a lasting impact nonetheless.

In her 2017 book It's Messy: Essays on Boys, Boobs and Badass Women, Amanda opened up about the mutual attraction between the stars, writing: "We met when I was two months pregnant, 19 years old, and married to another man [John Taylor of Duran Duran]."

"Within minutes of first laying eyes on [Reeves], I remember thinking, 'I wonder how many pregnant women have affairs?' I was surprised by my strong attraction to a man I had just met," she added.

5. Jennifer Syme:

Reeves’ fairytale romances weren’t any stranger to heartbreak and grief. Back in 1999, the actor began a romantic relationship with actress Jennifer Syme and the pair announced their first pregnancy shortly after.

Unfortunately, their child, who would’ve been a baby girl named Ava was stillborn at 8 months in January 2000. She would’ve been the only known Keanu Reeves children.

There had been rumors that Keanu Reeves married Jennifer Syme while she was expecting, however, they were refuted by the couple’s breakup.

6. Claire Forlani:

The Constantine actor reportedly dated Forlani for two years from 2004 to 2006 and has remained on friendly terms since.

7. Alexandra Grant:

Reeves' involvement with Grant is the actor’s longest and the most stable one yet. Before going public with their romance in 2019, the couple had been friends for nearly a decade.

The pair struck up a friendship based on common interests after they collaborated on Reeves’ debut book Ode to Happiness in 2011.

As a visual artist, Alexander Grant, aged 49, contributed to it with thought-provoking illustrations, while Reeves took care of the rest of the content.

In 2016, they worked together again on Reeves’ book, Shadows, and co-founded a publishing house, X Artists’ Books shortly after.

Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant made their official red carpet debut at LACMA Art + Film Gala, and have since made numerous appearances together.
