Dwayne Johnson disses DC new CEOs in disappointed rant

Dwayne Johnson is just as disappointed with the latest DC overhaul as us.

Speaking to Variety at the Oscars red carpet, the 50-year-old actor reflected on the decision of the franchise’s new CEOs, James Gunn and Peter Safran, to fire Henry Cavill from the role of Superman shortly after teasing the big face-off between him and Johnson’s character, Black Adam.

“All that I can do, and all that we could do when we were making ‘Black Adam,’ was to put our best foot forward and surround ourselves with the best people and deliver the best movie we could,” Johnson said.

“Our audience score was in the 90s,” he noted. “Critics took a couple of shots, but that’s just the business of it.”

He also compared the recently unveiled slate of DC movies to that of “when you have a pro football team and your quarterback wins championships and your head coach wins championships and then a new owner comes in and says, ‘Not my coach, not my quarterback. I’m going to go with somebody new.'”

What to Know About the New Era of DC Studios:

Gunn and Safran were announced as the new owners of the universe shortly after Black Adam was released back in October.

In the post-credits scene of the superhero movie, it was teased that the anti-hero will be pitted against Cavill’s Superman.

However, all hopes were crushed when not only the sequel to Black Adam was dismissed indefinitely, but also Cavill was fired as Superman.

The decision was followed by a string of changes in the DC Universe as well as an announcement of the new slate of movies ready to be released in 2025.
