Keanu Reeves' John Wick 4 is at the festival.

Variety was informed by numerous sources that the fourth entry in Keanu Reeves' wildly popular trilogy will be this year's "secret screening" at the SXSW Film Festival. Next week, the movie will be shown locally in Texas at a significant location, the sources said.

In an effort to protect the fan experience, distributor Lionsgate and the SXSW Film Festival organisers declined to comment on this subject. According to one source, the timing of how and when lucky attendees can obtain seats for the screening would depend on digital marketing.

This week, "John Wick 4" had its London world premiere, which was followed by a Berlin screening. The action movie, whose first three parts have amassed about $600 million at the international box office, will have its first public screening in the United States at SXSW. The first reviews from the European premieres were overwhelmingly positive.

Keanu Reeves' John Wick 4 is 'slick and brutal'

“A slick, brutal and stylish action epic that sees Keanu Reeves push himself further than before, and with moments that’ll have fans talking,” wrote one critic.

Under the direction of Chad Stahelski, Reeves makes a return as the titular, hesitant hitman Wick. Bill Skarsgrd plays the Marquis, Donnie Yen plays Caine, Laurence Fishburne plays the Bowery King, Lance Reddick plays Charon, Rina Sawayama plays Akira, Shamier Anderson plays Tracker, Hiroyuki Sanada plays Shimazu, Scott Adkins plays Killa, and Ian McShane plays Winston.

The Paramount Pictures franchise prospect "Dungeons & Dragons," the much awaited "Evil Dead Rising," Eva Longoria's "Flamin' Hot," and the independent feature "Problemista" were among the other noteworthy releases in this year's SXSW film list.
