Andrew Tate documentary to lift lid on influencer's controversial rise to fame

Channel 4 has been given "full access" to create a documentary on controversial internet personality. 

Channel 4 announced that the 60-minute documentary will be directed by Maggie Gaudin and executive produced by Dan Reed, who notably was the director behind Michael Jackson's Leaving Neverland documentary. 

The documentary will look into his meteoric rise to fame

Reed said, "How Andrew Tate became the most viral influencer on the planet, and what forces and experiences shaped Tate the man (as opposed to the controversy-seeking media icon) is what we’re trying to find out."

"Tate has given us full access and we’re looking forward to carrying on filming if he gets out of jail in the coming weeks," he added.

According to Channel 4, the presently untitled documentary would seek out individuals from Tate's personal life, capture "extensive footage" of him over the past 10 years, and interview his throngs of admirers.

The former kickboxing world champion, who gained millions of fans for his controversial material, and his brother Tristan are being detained in Romania on suspicion of participating in human trafficking and an organised crime group.
