Jovit Baldivino, Philippian singer, dies at the age of 29

Jovit Baldivino, the first-ever Pilipinas Got Talent champion, passed away on Friday, December 9, according to his former handler at Star Magic.

Jerry Telan claimed that Baldivino passed away around 4 a.m. based on information from the singer's parents and fiancé. following five days of "comatoseness." Age-wise, he was 29.

Baldivino was sent to the Jesus of Nazareth Hospital in Batangas on the evening of December 3 after experiencing respiratory difficulties following a musical performance, according to a statement on Telan's Instagram page.

Telan said that Baldivino had been "recuperating for a week with hypertension maintenance medicines," when his doctor instructed him not to sing before the event.

"Then he was invited by a family friend from Batangas City…Knowing "Bundoy" (Jovit), he gave in to clamor of the crowd. He sang 3 signature songs including Faithfully by Journey. He was gasping for breath on the 3rd song," read Telan’s post, adding Baldivino was brought to the hospital the same night.

The artist's agent said the results of Baldivino’s CT scan showed "a blood clot in the brain (sign of aneurysm)."

Baldivino recorded a lot of CDs after winning Season 1 of Pilipinas Got Talent in 2010. His hit songs include Pusong Bato and Ikay Mahal Pa Rin.
