Children of the Corn promises the thrills and chills of a classic horror movie

The first glimpse of Children of the Corn has dropped.

A remake of the 1984 horror film, which was an adaptation of Stephen King’s 1977 short story, essays he role of 12-year-old Eden, played by Kate Moyer, who is possessed by a dying spirit and recruits children to take possession of a town.

Survival for the doomed town lies with a high schooler who rejects the rampage taking place in the town.

The director did end up making some changes in the story with King’s version featuring an outsider couple uncovering the horrific history of the town and its children.

"Tired of having to pay the price for their parent's mistakes, Eden leads the kids on a bloody rampage, killing the adults and anyone who opposes her," the logline begins.

"With all the adults jailed or dead, it comes down to one high schooler who won't go along with the plan and becomes the town's only hope of survival."

The cast includes Captain America: The Winter Soldier actor Callan Mulvey, Bruce Spence and Stephen Hunter alongside Kate.

The movie will have a limited theatrical release on March 3 in the US before it is available on Shudder from March 21.
