Saturday Night Live has paid a tribute to Diane Keaton after she passed away on Saturday, October 11.
The sketch comedy show was to go on air in just a few hours when the news of her death broke, but the creators still found a way to honour the Academy Award winner.
At the end of its second episode, there was a black-and-white tribute card of The Godfather actress flashing a wide grin as she looked sideways.
Diane was wearing her signature collared shirt and tie, which was also worn by host Amy Poehler for the farewells before the end credits rolled, as another nod to the 79-year-old.
Although Diane never made an appearance on SNL herself, she has been represented in a couple of sketches from the show.
Vanessa Bayer represented the actress in a 2012 skit, while Chloe Fineman played the late-actress in the 2022 sketch called Father of the Bride, which is a movie the beloved actress originally appeared in, in 1991.
SNL cast members were not the only ones to honour the late actress and remember her, as several other notable celebrities such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Steve Martin, Elizabeth Perkins have also paid tributes on their social media platforms.
Diane had a number of high-profile romances but never wanted become a wife, so she embraced her independence.
